French Door fridge comparison Door Refrigerator With Ice Maker Review

French-door refrigerators blend design and function. They feature stylish double doors that reveal a large fridge on top and a freezer drawer beneath. Special features such as through-the-door dispensers, higher-end ice machines, and customizable flex drawers make them stand out from the crowd.

We contacted Ladina Schopf - an interior designer, architect, and the founder of LS Projects - for her tips on how to select the right one. They considered storage capacity, layout and energy efficiency as well as other features.

Like its name implies, the GE Profile series is targeted at consumers who want to incorporate cutting-edge technologies into their kitchen. This fridge has them all from the Keurig K cup coffee maker inside the door, to a clever dispenser of water. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. Given that this fridge costs more, I'd expect better.

Other than that however, this refrigerator is a great choice. It has a huge freezer compartment which is uncommon for counter-depth french door fridge size-door refrigerators. It also has a large capacity for frozen food compared to other models.

Inside the fridge, there are 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment is 18.5 cubic feet, which is standard for a French-door fridge at this price. It comes with a decent size icemaker in the left door. However it's not the most spacious one I've seen.

You can adjust the shelves in both compartments to create a customized storage layout for what you want to store. The GE PYE22PYNFS's design for the interior is attractive, too. The LED lighting adds an appealing accent. The bins for storage inside include a third shelf that can be folded down to store tall objects. The drawers have temperature controls that allow you to set them to Meat, Beverage, or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, but I found their plastic textured coatings a bit rough on the fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator comes with the full suite of features you'd expect from a fridge at this price with Wi-Fi and app support through GE's SmartHQ software. The app, which is available for iOS and Android devices, lets you control your fridge from anywhere in the world, and has many options for customizing. It also sends you notifications when the door is left unlocked and when the fridge or freezer requires defrosting, and when the filter needs to be changed.

It would be nice it GE PYE22PYNFS could offer Precise Fill the option that is that is available in a few GE refrigerators that allows users to select the number of cups they would like to disperse. The fridge displays a countdown timer to display how much water remains but it's not as effective as Precise Fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The Bosch French-door Refrigerator is a stunning piece of equipment. It's designed to appear like it's a seamless part in your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also features a veggie compartment that keeps vegetables and fruits fresher for longer, and two compressors for preserving food. The Ice maker is among the most efficient we've ever tested, and it produces a pyramid-shaped form of Ice with low water usage. This refrigerator is the ideal option for households with a single member or kitchenettes looking for a built-in look and top-of-the-line food preservation.

The fridge was rated the best refrigerator in our Refrigerators Test for various reasons. Its freezer temperatures remained constant at just above 0° Fahrenheit and never changed by more than a fraction, this is essential to avoid freezer burn. The fridge section of the fridge also did well. It reached the temperature it was set within an hour, and maintained the temperature throughout our testing.

Bosch is known for its high-end appliances. It's therefore no surprise that the Bosch counter depth fridge can be connected to your home Wi Fi and Bosch's platform Home Connect. The app lets you monitor and control your fridge from your smartphone or tablet. The fridge is expensive however, it offers excellent features and functions at a reasonable price.

While the fridge is an amazing piece of equipment, it's important to know the limitations. It has a limited shelf space, which means you'll require some creativity when storing tall objects. Additionally, the shelves are not sprillproof and can be easily stained or damaged by sharp objects. The trays are easily removed from the refrigerator. However, they must be cleaned frequently to stop the growth of mold.

LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The LG LRFLC2706S counter-depth fridge is a great option for those who require lots of space within an extremely compact frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. Inside, the refrigerator has an ordinary small french door bottom freezer refrigerator-door design with gallon-sized door bins at each door and two rows of spill-capture shelves, and a set of crisper drawers. The upper right shelf can be folded down to give taller items more space. There's also a full-width drawer to store products from the deli and an inside water dispenser.

One of the best features of this refrigerator is that the ice maker is inside the freezer, which makes it easy to move frozen ice to the fridge for use when needed. The freezer also has innovative design features like sliding drawers that allow you to organize your items. It also has a huge bin that can accommodate plenty of frozen food items and an container for storing ice.

Another cool feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. You can control the temperature, lighting and more of your fridge from your smartphone. It's an easy way to monitor your refrigerator and control it, especially when away from home.

But while the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it doesn't necessarily add to the overall performance of the refrigerator. The refrigerator took longer to chill food and defrost it than the other fridges we test. This is likely due to the larger capacity.

The other issue we have with the door of this refrigerator. The handles with a sunken design let shorter people open them from the bottom. However taller people have a hard time closing them without slamming. It would have been better if they had handles mounted on the front.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a good option for those looking to combine the advantages of a fridge with a French door with a more efficient layout. Its capacity is higher than average for a counter-depth model and it cools evenly and has a good layout. It's also a bit less than the top counter-depth refrigerator with an ice maker, which can make it a popular choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a good option when you're looking for a french door fridge cheap door fridge that doesn't break the budget. It's a simple fridge that may not be as attractive like some of its competitors however, it does have enough features to make it a an excellent option. Its most significant feature, the adjustable temperature drawer helps to keep food items like meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge water dispenser, as well as an excellent ice machine that works fast.

Another nice feature is the "Chill Drawer" that sits above the two crisper bins. This drawer lets you redirect some of the refrigerator's cooling power directly into this area, which means you can put away food items that require extra attention. You can adjust the feature using the slider located on the on the outside of the drawer. You can also alter the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I have found that the generic settings are more effective than the specific ones.

In my tests, I found that the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent across different parts of the refrigerator. Temperatures at the top and bottom of the fridge didn't stray very far from 38 degrees, and even the middle of the fridge was within a degree of 36. This is a good performance but does not quite make it to the top of our ratings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. The fridge can be linked with a smart thermostat to gain more precise information on the internal temperature of your fridge.

The exterior of the Frigidaire is made of grey-bodied stainless that has a "smudge proof" finish. It blocks streaks and fingerprints better than other stainless steel finishes I've tested.
