Best iRobot Vacuums

This entry-level iRobot is a great option for those looking to save the price of a premium model. It offers impressive navigation and obstacle-avoidance technology, and comes with voice and app controls and scheduled cleaning.

In our tests, its vacuuming performance was top-notch. It picked up 55% of the debris. Its mopping was able to remove dried milk staining.

1. Roomba s9+

After spending a month evaluating robot vacuums, I'm convinced that the Roomba s9+ is the ideal choice for the majority of homes. Its unique D shape lets it get close to the walls and corners to give an even better cleaning. Its powerful motor is more effective at cleaning kitty-litter and pet hair than other robots I've tried. The s9+ comes with advanced features like Dirt Detect and the ability to select when it cleans using the iRobot Home app.

iRobot's vSLAM navigational technology developed by the company through research to aid landmine detectors in finding mines, is an impressive feat. It scans the room at 25 times per second, and creates an accurate map of your room that helps Baby Rocky avoid getting snagged in the midst of a mess. The model this year also includes PerfectEdge Technology that lets the s9+ work close to difficult edges like the thin edges on my Ikea renovated kitchen cabinets.

Although I'm not so sure on the s9+'s'smart dirt sensor' (it's meant to identify areas with high concentrations debris and focus its cleaning power on those areas) or its 'quiet mode' (which sounds more like it's switched off rather than on), its overall performance is unsurpassed by any other robot vacuum I've seen. It's also more effective at picking up kitty-litter and pet hair than its nearest competitor and the more affordable ONSON GOOVI robot F007.

2. Roomba J7+

The Roomba J7+ is a robot vacuum that comes with wet mopping capabilities. The j7+ utilizes advanced obstacle avoidance technology to help navigate through your home and clean floors without missing any places. This new feature lets the robot avoid obstacles like pet poop, and other things which could cause the robot to break or get stuck. This feature is an improvement over earlier models that had to avoid obstacles by chance or using a user-programmed route.

If you send the j7+ on a mapping mission through the app, you can program it to create a smart map of your house. The j7+ will navigate automatically to the location of the map it has created when it comes to cleaning. You can modify the map and label rooms as well as set up cleaning zones to personalize the navigation options available to the j7+. The j7+ has a strong battery capacity and can clean for over 100 minutes on a single charge. The i3 EVO, as with other irobots uses smartmaps to keep track of the layout and divisions of your home. However, it does not use cameras, as the i8/i8+, j7/j7+ and s9/s9+ do. Instead the i3 EVO uses floor-tracking sensors to determine where rooms are and how they're divided. After mapping is completed, the i3 EVO displays the smart map within the app, so you can alter the room dividers and labels if you need to.

Based on irobot floor cleaner OS, the i3 EVO stays one step ahead of daily dirt. It learns your cleaning habits and offers suggestions, including scheduling cleaning when you're away from your home or suggesting extra cleans during the peak pollen or pet shed season. The i3 EVO is impressive at cleaning floors that are bare, and it can tackle smaller debris such as rice and bulkier materials like cereal in one go. When the i3 EVO dustbin is full it automatically empties the contents into the docking station's external debris compartment and continues to clean. It will then return to the docking station and begin charging when its battery is at a low level. This feature helps keep your hands clean, and the i3 EVO's performance is prevented from getting worse as dust accumulates.

4. Braava Jet M6

The Braava Jet M6 is a mopping machine that aims to take the hassle out of cleaning floors. It's quite different from iRobot Braava's previous models, and has a larger tank of water that is beneath its new, stylish lid. It actually cleans your floors with a safe cleaning solution, unlike most 2-in-1 hybrids. It also has a nice spray that can be adjusted to target the area you want to clean and also an intelligent recharge and resume feature.

It's easy to use and setup. Simply plug it into the outlet, download the iRobot App and follow the steps. It's also compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant. You can ask it to begin cleaning or monitor its status. The iRobot App is one of the most user-friendly apps in the business and lets you schedule, select rooms and block off areas and more.

Once you've got your app set up, the M6 uses Imprint Smart Mapping technology to understand your home's floor plan by mapping out each room and its contents during each mopping session without the need for cameras or wires. It can map out your house even after it has been cleaned. This can be useful in the event that you want to move furniture around or make other modifications to the floor plan.

This is a top mopping robot that can do an excellent job of getting rid of messes and leaving your floors spotless. It's especially good in tackling small sticky spills, moving under skirts and chairs and squeezing the wall and removing throw rugs. It's not the most powerful mop options however it does a excellent job.

Like other iRobot products, this one is a little pricey but it has a few nice features that make it worth the cost.
