iRobot Combo Review

Combo is the first mop from iRobot and vacuum robot. It's also its best buy irobot roomba-looking. Its brushed aluminum top piece and iRobot logo are more elegant than the loud designs of rivals.

The iRobot Home cleaning automation application is used to guide and set up your robot. The app tracks data about usage and maps of your home, including furniture and obstacles. Maps and image data are only shared with iRobot in the event that you choose to opt-in.

It's not a mop

The Combo irobot, a very intelligent mopping robot, combines all the power of the superb Roomba J7+ and adds a water reservoir onboard and a small pad for mopping and a robot arm which can lift and lower the pad. It can do a great amount of work in just 11 minutes, and then gets power cut off and returns to its base station to recharge.

The model with the combo also comes with the irobot pet series home app, which means you can begin and stop cleaning runs. It's also a nice-looking robot, with matte black plastic that doesn't show dust or fingerprints and an aluminum top piece that is brushed with an encircling irobot deals logo.

It's a fantastic vacuum cleaner, and it is able to cross over large areas of carpet or transition strips between flooring surfaces. It is able to pick up fine dust that other robotic vacuums miss. It's not the best buy irobot in mowing. It can't obliterate dried milk stains, like unless you've sent it out several times.

IRobot's dedicated Braava jet M6 mopping robotic cleaner, often offered in a bundle with the J7 Plus for less than the combo Combo does a much better job at this and other tasks that are difficult. It's even able to clean up ketchup and wine that has spilled however I'd recommend against sending it after any kind of liquid with a high sugar content.

It's a vacuum

The tiny water tank and dustbin are easy to close and open, although they're not the most efficient in terms of capacity. The Combo j7+ has all the features you'd expect from iRobot. It has maps and obstacle avoidance maps that function reliably and quickly. However, it's the mopping arm that makes this a standout model in its category. It keeps the mop pad tucked in the top of the vacuum, but if it spots the need to mop a surface, it lowers the mop pad below and behind the robot. This is a major upgrade over other robot vacuums which require you to take out mop pads from hard floors or carpets manually. You can even switch off the entire unit for mopping.

It's an electric charging station

Place your Combo Irobot on the changing station, and align the metal contacts on the base. The charging station functions well and is simple to set up. In my tests, it took a few minutes for the robot's to start charging and make a sound when it was done. When the Combo robot is charged, you can begin an exploration run in the app to help the robot better comprehend your home. You can also mark specific objects like lamp cords, as permanent avoidances within the app. You can also connect Alexa or Google Assistant to your robot to allow voice commands for it to navigate around the house.

It's a smart device
